On Friday, February 24, Tyler Pipe bid a fond farewell to Don Martin. Don decided to retire after 11 years with Tyler Pipe.  I know what you’re thinking, why after only 11 years.  You see, Don’s retirement from Tyler Pipe is special because it is his third retirement.  Yes, you read that right, his third retirement.  He retired from the military after 20 years and went on to retire from UT Health Center after 11 years and now he is retiring from Tyler Pipe.

Don is unique and will surely be missed by everyone because he loved to make you laugh. Don was the shipping supervisor, but he would make daily rounds to the administration building, the industrial garage and the NP production before heading back to the shipping department.  He could sing songs from country to rap and tell you the name of the artist and the year the song came out.  He also loved to talk about his “scratch off” winnings and he seemed to win more than he lost.

Don’s retirement party was attended by over half the salaried team members at Tyler Pipe along with his parents and daughter who surprised him when they drove 5 hours from San Antonio to attend his party.

We’re certainly going to miss you Don and wish you a long and happy retirement, unless he decides to go for a fourth retirement. If he does, he's always welcome at Tyler Pipe.
